Not too many years ago there used to be one type of cake. White! White with vanilla, white with strawberry, white with rose colored piping... I think you get the point. Nowadays you can find everything from Mario Brothers Cakes (featured) to Enchanted Sand Castle Cakes with the couple walking along the beach along a flowing champagne ocean! Great looking and tasting cakes are fast becoming the standard at weddings and the sky seems to be the limit when it comes designs.

- Build your own.
- Most people rely on a professional bakery to design and build their wedding cake. However, if you have the determination and a bit of baking sense then a DIY cake is certainly do-able.
This Mario Bros. cake was actually designed and built by the bride and her sister as a surprise grooms cake. The cake was wrapped in colorfull fondant and the characters were hand made using marzipan.
We were blown away by the detail in the characters all the way down to the teeth on the chomping red tulips! It really said a lot about how the bride felt about the groom!

- Take A Closer Look

- Everyone at this wedding event, myself included, had to do a double take at this cake. At first glance this just looked like a traditional wedding cake with fancy chocolate piping. Nothing out of the ordinary, until you take a closer look. When you do you will see that the Bride and Groom put a lot of thought into how to make all of their guests feel extra special. They had their cake designer put all the guests names who were invited, in script, on the cake. Even mine is there!
- A truly remarkable and unique idea!

- A Cake for Everyone
- How about a Wedding Cupcake Cake? The Bride & Groom of this wedding event decided to take a different route and give everyone their own mini cake. Don't worry, when it came time to ceremonially cutting of the cake they sliced into the very top which was an actual cake.
- These days anything is possible wether you hire a professional or do it yourself. When it comes down to planning your wedding take an active role.
When hiring a cake designer, be sure to see "real world" photographs of the cakes they have designed. Look for a designer with experience and who shares your creative and artistic vision. Most of all, don't be afraid to be creative and incorporate the things you enjoy and that make you happy!
- As always, please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have about planning your wedding event. We have over 16 years experience and have photographed over 700 events.
